Sweet Treats

Halloween brings sweet treats...
candy corn, sugared pumpkins, chocolate
and homemade pumpkin chocolate chip cookies

The recipe for the pumpkin chocolate chip cookies
comes from the kitchen of our friend Rhonda

thank you for the recipe,
they were most delicious

Go Bulls!

Our Annual USF tailgate party
and
Taylor's first college football game

hanging with Jake

a little tailgate football
before the game

USF touchdown!!!
USF lost but...
we had so much fun.

Fun at the Pumpkin Patch

The jack -o'lantern chuckled
Then winked his funny eye,
"I would rather be a pumpkin-face
Than be inside a pie!"

They worked hard loading up the wagon
and helped each other out

finally narrowing it down to their very favorites

all with the very best of friends

and the masterpiece was created.

sundays best

Our Sunday's include
cleaning the house, playing outside,
and usually having dinner at
Nana and Pop's
where we do more playing, eating, and
celebrating birthday's.
Even if there is not a birthday,
Taylor will have one for himself...
he must be like 50 years old now...

hey batter batter batter
swing batter.....
homerunnnnnnnn.....

creative?
Our most recent real birthday..
Happy 60th Birthday
Uncle Barry

Our Spooky Halloween House

I love to decorate...
especially for the holidays...
I must get it from my momma...

Taylor's favorite, it lights up!

eye of worm, hair of snake, chewed up gum,

spider cake, dash of slime, toe of bug

drink this up or you'll
be a slug

Two of our favorite Halloween books
and "Gourdy" the cat
that had to be in his room!

The house is all ready
can't wait to trick or treat.

Only for Grandma's Home Cookin'

Gwen to me
Gwenie to Grandpa
Gwendolyn to some
Grandma to my husband
Memaw to my son

A poem for her...

Only for Grandma’s Home Cookin’
Apple, pumpkin, cherry pie
Was stuff she was always cookin’
She would feed you scrumptious tidbits
Especially when no one else was lookin’

In Grandma’s kitchen is where we hung around
There was no time to show a frown
Brownies, cakes, and cookies… oh my
Would put that twinkle back in your eye

The way it smells when she cooks
When you’re bad, the way she looks
Her home-made bread and mac-n-cheese
Would make you say yes please.

But if you’d bring her some fresh fish
She’d fry you up a wonderful dish
Her tartar sauce we will never forget
And by the way, our attempts at it… just aren’t there yet

She’s one of the nicest ladies that you’ll ever meet
Unless you get on her bad side, then you’re in for a treat
Sugar, spice and everything twice
Was the things that made her dishes so nice

Wonderful in everyway
Her soul so kind, so sweet, so free
Thank you grandma
For filling our bellies and feeding our hearts

Food that was always so good lookin’
We’ll always miss Grandma’s good ol’ home cookin’
Tay posted her memorial pictures all over the fridge,
he misses her...
